    Dear Reader,

    The 11th Congress of the European Pain Federation EFIC “PAIN IN EUROPE – BRINGING THE FUTURE TO THE PRESENT” taking place in Valencia from 4th to 7th of September begins in a few days. Pain in Europe XI will be the largest scientific congress on pain in 2019, bringing together the most recognized experts in the field of pain medicine to exchange knowledge, ideas and the latest advances in the field.

    On every day of the congress, Societal Impact of Pain (SIP) related topics will be on the program - either as part of the scientific lectures or presented in poster sessions. There will also be a whole session dedicated to SIP on September 4th from 14:30 - 16:00 - “Societal Impact of Pain - changing pain medicine through political action” The program for this session will be:

    • Introduction
    • What is SIP?
    • Creating national platforms to tackle the societal impact of pain – HCP´s perspective
    • Creating national platforms to tackle the societal impact of pain – patient perspective
    • The global approach to pain policy
    • Discussion

    Several plenaries and workshops will be web streamed at this year’s EFIC congress and the SIP session will be one of them!

    You just need to register to the EFIC Education Platform and you will automatically be given access to the livestream.

The session will include a presentation of the achievements of SIP Europe, and for the first time, of different SIP national platforms. You can find all SIP-related materials of the EFIC congress on the SIP webpage. The program highlights the importance of the multi-stakeholder SIP platform as we celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2019.
